Frank Lampard signed a 5 year deal that will keep him at Stamford Bridge for rest of his career. Much was spoken about his potential move to Inter Milan linking with former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho. Lampard seemed to make the move this year or the next, but has signed a new deal under boss Scolari. Scolari had maintained that Drogba and Lampard were very much in his plans for rest of their career. A good start for Scolari!!!

Jose Mourinho is all set to sign Sulley Muntari from Portsmouth for a fee of £12.7m. This suggests Chelsea might not want to sell Frank Lampard and that he has to wait for one more year to see off his contract. Muntari was a key figure in Portsmouth squad last season turning in some terrific performances including the one against Manchester United in a league game.

Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz took over as Portugal national team coach. Earlier in his career he had coached the U-21 Portugal national side and is now appointed as the replacement to Scolari who has joined Chelsea.
For Queiroz, the immediate target would be the FIFA world Cup 2010. What impact would this have on Ronaldo’s transfer saga? Ronaldo meanwhile will be sidelined for the next 3 months due to injury.
Peter Crouch sealed a move to Portsmouth joining Harry Redknapp for the third time in his career. Crouch will pair up with Defoe to form an all-England front line-up.
Top 5 predictions for this week
- Frank Lampard’s transfer to Inter Milan
- Ajax striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar’s move to Man Utd or Arsenal
- Robinho to Chelsea
- Arshavin going nowhere
- Ronaldinho to AC Milan

Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe Scolari officially took charge of the club today and made the fans happy by insisting that Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba are very much in his plans. It is certain that Chelsea have rejected an offer from Inter Milan for Lampard, and are prepared to do so for Drogba in case AC Milan make a move.
It is also likely that Scolari is prepared to part ways with striker Andriy Shevchenko, Claudio Pizarro, midfielders Florent Malouda and second choice keeper Carlo Cudicini. AC Milan might be interested in signing back Sheva which might benefit the striker as well. Scolari did not mention about the possible transfer of Shaun Wright-Phillips to Portsmouth.

Inter Milan have opened formal negotiations with Chelsea midfielder and Jose Mourinho’s faithful Frank Lampard. The club has sent a fax to Chelsea to begin the process of negotiation. Lampard is in his final year contract with the London club.
Meanwhile Inter’s rival club AC Milan have renewed their interest in premier league strikeforce Didier Drogba and Adebayor. Chelsea’s interest in Ronaldinho and Eto might make way for Drogba to move to Italy, where he might play against his former coach Jose Mourinho. Arsenal are tracking Newcastle forward Martins and Blackburn forward Roque Santa Cruz to replace Adebayor in case he moves.
Brazilian coach Dunga has said Ronaldinho might make a move to AC Milan rather than premier league clubs like Chelsea / Manchester city.
Pompeys look set to have settled a deal with Liverpool for Peter Crouch and are prepared to sell David Nugent, Sunderland might be interested in the striker.
Arsenal might be the landing place for Arshavin after Chelsea seemed to have ended their interest in the Russian midfielder. The arrival of Deco might have convinced Chelsea owner to end this pursuit.
